What’s the different between your gym and a regular (Globo) gym?
The difference between us will be clear to see. No saunas, steam rooms, mirrors or machines. You come here to work hard in a fun and friendly atmosphere where everyone knows each other’s name. No egos are tolerated.
Are CrossFit workouts really hard?
The exercises you will carry out will mimic real life movements and improve your work capacity across various energy pathways and training domains. The training is hard; that is the point. Vast improvements in health and fitness will be measured and witnessed through logging of times and scores. CrossFit workouts are famed for their intensity. However as each workout is scaled to the individual’s ability, it is relative. We believe that short intense workouts provide a greater stimulus for the body to adapt and improve.
Do I need some experience or level of fitness? In a nutshell, no. We will assess your ability during the taster session. Most people will embark on our Elements programme, alternatively, you can opt for personal training. The Elements consists of 12 hours of progressive technique, strength and conditioning training and will prepare you well for the rigours of CrossFit. As always, we will take into account previous training and experience and possibly look at fast-tracking you into the membership.
Will you tie me into a contract like most gyms
Absolutely not. We only want people enthusiastic and passionate about CrossFit training here and if this is not for you then you are free to depart, minus any hassle.
What should I bring to train?
What you would wear to most gyms, shorts and t-shirt. As you will see we are not the best insulated and we definitely recommend you donning a warm hoodie or jacket prior to our warm-up phase.
Do you have a shower and changing rooms?
We have one small shower room at 57 North for member use.
