What is CrossFit
Essentially, our speciality is not specialising. We combine the most efficient and effective exercises across weightlifting, gymnastics and cardio. The exercises you carry out at our gym will mimic real life movements and get you moving the way you were meant to.
As Coach Greg Glassman, the founder of CrossFit, coined “the needs of our grandparents and Olympic athletes differ by degree not kind.” Therefore, at CrossFit 57 North, everyone can take part in the same challenging workouts, testing the same capacities; but suitably altered and constructed for their individual needs and ability.
Everyday a WOD (Workout of the day) will be up on the board and everyone will complete this. All workouts can be scaled towards the individual. For example we can alter the load, time, and movement to suit the individual ability; however, the relative intensity will remain.
