CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
Naomi had been training for over 15 years in various globo gyms and functional fitness centres and had grown tired of the monotonous, impersonal nature of these places. While looking for something new to try she stumbled across CrossFit 57 North - it was like a breath of fresh air! She immediately fell in love with the style of training and has never looked back.
Having previously raced mountain bikes in downhill and enduro disciplines and having participated in various on and off road running races and duathlons, it is fair to say that Naomi has a fairly competitive streak. CrossFit has given her the opportunity to flex her competitive muscles where she has enjoyed some success in individual, pairs and team competitions.
Naomi doesn’t have a favourite movement but would definitely rate handstand push-ups and pistol squats among her least favourite which, as she admits, probably means they need a little bit more work!
She thinks the best thing about CrossFit, without a doubt, is the community. The support you get is unparalleled and like nothing you’ll experience anywhere else. The whole box celebrates when a first or a new PB is claimed and it doesn’t matter the size of the accomplishment, everything gets celebrated equally. And when things don’t go as well people are there to pick you up and brush you off.
Naomi says, “Seeing people improve little by little, every day is inspiring and I want to be involved in that. I took the CrossFit Level 1 course so I can help people realise their goals and do things they never thought possible.”
