Lewis started getting into fitness in High School, but didn’t start taking it seriously until after university when he joined The Parachute regiment Reserve and started working out with weights in addition to the physicality of being a Para. He’ll be the first to admit it was mostly bro-reps and curls with no idea what he was doing, with frequent visits to the osteopath after guessing his way incorrectly through some bigger lifts.
On leaving the military he let his fitness drift, but it always niggled that he should be doing more. Lewis stumbled across the Froning documentary one night at work, which planted a seed in his head - he started working out again in the gym at work, and was horrified to see how much his fitness had slid over the years.
Once he moved to Inverness he found CrossFit 57 North and fell in love with working out again. He discovered he enjoys learning the process and developing knowledge almost as much as he enjoys working out and decided to do the L1 to help others enjoy the experience as much as he does. Lewis is passionate about getting members of the emergency services into the gym, and enjoys grinding through the long, physically and mentally demanding workouts like Murph and Chad. Yes, you read that right, he enjoys Chad.
